Hello everyone,
So I just watched the anime Koi to Uso a.k.a Love and Lies and I can say that I really liked the first episode. The show has me hooked up until the next upcoming episode because I am burning to know what will happen with Nejima and Takasaki.
Please, to have a full understanding of my review and thoughts, go watch the first episode of the series. If you haven't done already this post may spoil you and you won't basically understand anything without watching the first episode first.
For all of you that don't know what this anime is about read the following Synopsis:
Lies are forbidden and love is doubly forbidden. In the near future, when young people in Japan turn sixteen, they are assigned a marriage partner by the government. People don't have to go through the trouble of looking for someone, and everyone accepts that the country will find a compatible partner to make them happy. Yukari Nejima is fifteen years old. He lives in a small corner of the country, and just can't seem to get ahead in life. Both academically and athletically he's below average. But within him, he hides a heart burning with passion! In this world in which love is forbidden, what will happen to him when he falls in love?
So as you may have understood, the anime talks about a new law that is set up in Japan, which automatically "marries" 2 individuals through an accurate system, once they turn 16. However, not everyone likes this new law and one of them is Nejima. He doesn't want to be forced into marrying someone he does not know whatsoever so he instead chooses to confess his feelings to his 5-year-crush Takasaki.
He doesn't know that Takasaki actually feels the same for him because at first, she decided to act like she didn't remember who Nejima was.
You see, Nejima's crush about Takasaki began some years ago when he offered her an eraser because she didn't have one, that kicked-off the romance for each other in both of them. It actually looked really nice to see young Nejima trying to help Takasaki from both sides. Takasaki helped her by giving her the half of his eraser, while Takasaki shyly thanked him. That's where the whole romance started to emerge.
Nejima, now feeling decided to confess everything to Takasaki, stopped her through the school hall, where she was walking with 2 of her friends. She immediately blushed and felt shy when Nejima stopped her and she told her friends to go.
Nejima was being really brave to take this courageous step, but he was kinda forced to do that since he was only hours away from his 16th birthday.
Nejima then proceeded to ask her if she even remembered anything about him, a question to which she replied with "I don't remember you". Nejima's world was crushed for a moment but he didn't hesitate to tell her to come by the park on 6 o clock.
You see, Nejima is being really brave here. Not only he didn't give up after Takasaki's cold answer, but he showed his strength too!
After long hours of waiting in the park, Takasaki finally shows up and tells Nejima to wait for her, and they together sit on one of the benches.
Then, unexpectedly, Takasaki tells him that she lied about not remembering him, and she shows him the half of the eraser he gave her that day. Nejima's eyes were wide-open in amaze. Then they leaned on on each other and started to kiss. Unexpectedly an SMS is sent to Nejima's phone, and the SMS is from the government deciding for his future wife. He opens the SMS and it says that his chosen wife is Takasaki! He doesn't believe his eyes.
Then shortly after some government ministers approach him and give him a file that shows that his wife is not Takasaki, but another girl named Sanada Lilina. Takasaki can't hold to this and decides to hold herself back from Nejima, but he doesn't leave her alone.
We are expecting more details from episode 2, and I just can't wait about it!
